Tano Road Security Patrol Needs YOU.
( jump to APPLICATION ) We have an urgent need for more drivers on Security Patrol. Our patrol was started in 1989 with twenty volunteers. Now in our 11th year, we have forty people, but we have many “OPEN” slots on our calendar.
Crime deterrence through visibility: We volunteer patrol drivers make sure that people see our cars out on the road at various times of the day. We carry the famous “Tano Road Patrol” sign, a cellular phone and a log book.
- Reporting: We use the patrol cell phone to report suspicious activities to the sheriff’s department.. We log these incidents in the Patrol log book.
Patrol duty takes about 2-3 hours TOTAL once every 6-8 weeks, depending on how many volunteers there are. We'll be happy to work around your schedule.
Are you a part-time resident? No problem. If you’re in town for a few weeks, call Sylvia DuLaney @ 982-4792 and tell her you will be glad to “fill in” for a permanent patrol member. You can’t imagine what a difference that would make!
Are you an “EX-Patrol Member”? If so, would you please consider re-joining? We really appreciated your giving your time in the past, and could use it again.
As an added benefit, and as a small way to say “Thank You”, patrol members will be given a 1-year membership to the Association.
Remember, the patrol is helping protect your property. Don't rely on others to do your share.
Please call Sylvia DuLaney at 982-4792 to volunteer for this most important community service. She will be glad to work around your schedule!
