If anyone needs a great plumber, I highly recommend Steve Fredericks, Baseline Plumbing, 470-1547.
Thanks. We may call him. Fred Adler is a plumber who someone recommended to us but he doesn’t return calls. Strange.
Do you happen to know someone who repairs/replaces sliding glass doors?
Don’t know Fred Adler, but if someone isn’t returning calls, it generally means he is really busy and won’t be able to attend to your needs. Don’t know about sliding glass doors.
FANTASTIC HOUSEKEEPER AVAILABLE (from Jack and Rita Purson)
We have used the same professional housekeeper for more than 20 years. She has always been absolutely perfect for us and had been cleaning our home on her days off from various “regular jobs” including a long stint at the Eldorado Hotel as a supervisor. The politics of difficult economic times in the hospitality industry have been a burden for her so she has recently decided to clean a limited number of private homes full-time and asked us to let our neighbors know. Carmen Mendoza is thorough, meticulous, reliable, extremely trustworthy, and personally a delightful lady. We recommend her highly. Please call her at 505-983-4162 while her schedule is still open.
Does anyone know of people who will remove our dead pinon trees? Ideally folks who might want the wood as partial payment – thanks Jan Denton and John Andrews
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HANDYMAN
I highly recommend Edik Manukyan 505 203-8690. His work is IMPECCABLE and his prices are extremely reasonable. He is licensed contractor painter, bonded and insured.
He has done everything in my house from hanging dry wall , re-stuccoing, refinishing our wood floors, painting / faux finish painting and repairing structural problems.
I spoke with Edik today. While he seemed very nice and quite reliable, he is in Albuquerque and was not willing to come to Santa Fe for our modest project.
LOOKING TO RENT A GARAGE
I am looking to rent a single car space in a garage for a vintage car primarily for the winter months.

We are brand new to Santa Fe and need to find a doctor GP, dentist, optometrist and a rheumatologist. Does anyone have a recommendation?
Helen and Wayne Swinson
My dentist is outstanding and his dental hygienist is extremely thorough. Mark Migdalski DDS, 505-820-1010. Located at 5 Calle Medico, Suite D.
Please let him know Scott Meyer referred you…
Thanks, Scott. We will give him a call.
Received from Chuck Nicolette in response to Scott’s email about increased internet speed for Cybermesa customers:
I am told that Quest who had been offering maximum 1.5 Mbps is now offering 12 Mbps where I live at Avenida de Sevilla just west of Camino de Los Montoyas. Don’t remember the cost, but seemed reasonable.
I just called Quest/CenturyLink to find out more about the 5 Year 12Mbps offering. You need to buy a package which includes long distance (US & Canada), Caller ID, Forward, Repeat, Wait, 3Way and VM for $45/mo and then the 12Mbps service for $19.95/mo. Adding estimated taxes I get about $82/mo total. If you already have a 1.5Mbps modem, no additional modem is needed.
Has anyone purchased this package? I’d like to know is the 12MBps real or just imaginary?
Bernie van der Hoeven
I just signed up for the faster-speed service from Qwest/CenturyLink. It’s actually cheaper than what I had been paying for the Premier plan (unlimited long distance, etc.). I did need to buy a new modem, though. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Regarding the Qwest/CenturyLink vs. CyberMesa discussion on internet speeds: It is completely dependent on WHERE you live.
Those of us at the Tano West end of the neighborhood are NOT able to get higher than 1.5 Mbps from Qwest/CenturyLink.
CyberMesa is your only choice if you want to get faster than 1.5 Mbps for the Tano West, Sundance, etc area. Right now, 3 Mbps is available to us. Those who wish to get 7 Mbps and live in the CyberMesa service area need to email me so I can add you to a list of people who want it.
If I can get a list of 20 households together to commit, CyberMesa will upgrade their equipment. Right now I only have about 6 names… so it’s not looking good unless I hear from more people.
Scott
We have had the same housekeeper for 20+ years here in Santa Fe and she is still
looking for new clients in the Tano area. Carmen Mendoza is careful,
meticulous, thorough, and as honest as the day is long. Throughout her
career, she has regularly worked full time at various Santa Fe hotels, most
recently as a supervisor at the Eldorado Hotel. The downturn in the economy
has been difficult for this level of hotel to maintain its staff. As a
result of the recent frequent ups and downs, Carmen has decided to become
independent and build a small but regular portfolio of private home
clientele. If you are needing a reliable, trustworthy housekeeper, please
consider calling Carmen at (505) 983-4162.
We’re looking for a handyman to deal with some repairs to our canales — caulking, filling bird pecking holes, things like that. Does anyone have a recommendation?
Thanks,
Joa
P.S. A handywoman would be just as acceptable!
Can I have recommendations for a reliable pest control person/company regarding gophers?
Thanks, Jack
We are looking for someone who has a pickup truck with a snow blade, who could plow our driveway this winter. Does anyone have a recommendation?
